Manuela Montoya Cortes
Manuela Montoya Cortes was born on September 18th, 1991 into a gypsy family. Coming from a long lineage of artists, flamenco runs in her DNA. Manuela started to sing at the age of 16 in small theaters, tablao shows, and fairs.
Soon after gaining experience on stage, she began to open shows for some of the biggest flamenco stars in the world, such as La Niña Pastori in 2009 and El Parrita in 2010.
Manuela has performed in many different venues throughout her career as a flamenco singer and has shared the stage with top flamenco artists, such as Remedios Amaya, Antonio Reyes, Jesus Mendez, Potito, Tomasito, Diego del Morao, Montse Cortes, Antonia La Negra, Antonio Carmona, Maria Jose Santiago, Diego Carrasco, Chonchi Heredia y Pepe el Marismeño.
In 2011, She participated in the Festival de Flamenco Fusión, La Feria de Sevilla, La Feria de Jerez de la Frontera, La Feria de Algeciras, La Feria de la Línea, La Feria de San Roque and La Feria de los Barrios.
She has also performed in various theaters near Algeciras. In 2015, she did a tribute to Farruquito and participated in the Festival Flamenco Mont de Marsan in France. She also did a few tributes to Paco de Lucia in 2015 and 2016. Also, in 2016, she sang at La Cocina Music for Luis de Periquín, recorded a Tangos for La Cocina Music, performed in “Flamenconcierto” with Farru and company and was interviewed in “La Cueva del Gato”, a flamenco television show.
