Martin Rodriguez is originally from Allende, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. He began playing guitar at the age 14 under the instruction of his brother, Samuel Rodriguez and his father Martin Rodriguez, Sr. Together, they played at churches and family gatherings.
He began learning the art of the flamenco guitar under the mentoring of Valdemar Phoenix in 1998 and started performing with Gitanerias Artistas Flamencos a year later. Martin played in the 1999 Gitanerias film, "Grafico", then he traveled and performed in Mexico as an independent artist.
Since his return to Houston, Martin has performed with Lucia and Valdemar in theater shows, tablao shows and restaurants. He participated as the musical director of the sold out production, "Caminos Gitanos", has shared the stage with Ana de la Peza's Soniquete, Hierro Forjado's Dance Troupe, Maria Fernanda from Danmar Art and Dance Studio, Morenito de Jerez, Jesus Pacheco, Luisma Ramos, among others and currently is the lead guitarist for Flamenco Andaluz.
